The first time I saw her? Ha, what a trap. She was bad news before I even knew I was going to that bar. I knew when I touched her she was bringing on the end.
He stepped off of the cement curb of the sidewalk, exhaling a sharp breath of cool air as his eyes followed a small brunette walking back to her car. He could already hear the band playing inside, the sound of the music thrummed in the bottom of his ear drums as his vision danced with it. The high had kicked in and he wasn't embarrassed of his half lidded eyes or the shadowed circles under them. He opened the door to the cafe with a gloved hand, the warm smell of coffee and brandy floating out along with the thrashing of a guitar. The lights were dimmer than usual, or so he thought, and the people shifted as a blob back and forth together without individual faces.
I would have saved her if I knew she was there. Then we wouldn't have had to deal with Jonah.
